SYNOPSIS

“The choreography is supremely kinetic, with endlessly flowing movement that requires the dancers to contort every part of their bodies.” – South China Morning Post, Hong Kong

Coiling, bending, extending, contorting, joining, separating, shifting, freezing, the bodies in As If to Nothing move in relentless flow, embracing realms of fragmentation and uncertainty, set against a moveable set, innovative lighting, distortive video projections and live electronic music.

Nothing is fixed. Nothing is permanent.

As If to Nothing examines the impermanence of memories with powerful, exquisite choreography by award-winning Tibetan choreographer and Rolex protégé Sang Jijia, brought to life with a physical, charged performance by Hong Kong’s acclaimed City Contemporary Dance Company.

As If to Nothing made its world premiere in Hong Kong in 2009, toured Beijing and Guangzhou in 2010, and won two 2010 Hong Kong Dance Awards ("Outstanding Dance Production", "Outstanding Achievement in Choreography")

General Late Seating Advisory

You are strongly advised to be seated 15 minutes before the performance start time.
No admission will be allowed into the venue once the performance has commenced.
Exceptions may be made at Esplanade's discretion depending on the nature of the performance.

Road closures around Esplanade â Theatres on the Bay on 20 May 2012

In conjunction with the Cold Storage Kids Run that will be held on Sunday, 20 May 2012, certain roads around Esplanade will be closed.

For the enjoyment of all audience members, all events start promptly at the time printed on the ticket. Please be seated 15 minutes before the performance start-time. Entry for latecomers and re-admission will not be permitted until the first appropriate pause in the programme or intermission, if any.

Patrons are advised that with effect from 12 March 2004, an administrative fee of $5 per ticket is payable for all Replacement Tickets issued.

Please note the following conditions: - Replacement Tickets can only be issued for performances with reserved seating.
- No Replacement Ticket will be issued for general admission or 'free seating' performances.
- Replacement Tickets are issued subject to verification of patron's details against our transaction records.
- Esplanade reserves the right to not issue a Replacement Ticket if we are not able to verify the claim.

曾经的未必是能够留下记忆的，继续的未必是你想去的。
时间能摧毁许多东西，特别是我们的记忆。
总是那般惯性的使之慢慢模糊……

透过舞者轻柔刚强、内敛奔放的肢体动作，寻找被时间摧毁的记忆。舞作出自国际现代舞藏族编舞家桑吉加之手，他也是知名“劳力士艺术创意推荐资助计划”得主，德国现代舞大师威廉•科西的得意门生。

桑吉加赋予这部舞作高能量且密集巧妙的舞蹈肢体语汇，在简洁的灯光、现场电子音乐和多个不同角度的录像投影下，舞者在多变的活动布景中，穿梭飞舞，营造出诸多扭曲但引人入胜的形体动作，带给观众心灵感官的震撼！

此作荣获“香港舞蹈年奖2010”的制作与编舞两大奖项。
