| MAHLER | Symphony No. 2 in C minor ‘Resurrection’ |
Death and re-birth are themes central to Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, a mammoth work also known as the ‘Resurrection’. The symphony begins with a funeral march and arrives at a promise of resurrection, forcefully affirmed in the choral finale which features the aural spectacular of an offstage brass ensemble and magnificent rousing chorus.
